Not eligible for a free NHS flu jab? Book a private flu jab at Leyton Pharmacy for £25. Your appointment takes about 10 minutes, and you can also walk in for a flu jab any time we're open. We'll ask a few quick health questions before giving your flu jab. A private COVID-19 vaccine costs £100 and takes about 10 minutes too. If you want both, you can have your flu jab and COVID-19 vaccine at the same visit.
Who Can Get a Free NHS Flu Jab in 2026/27?
You can get a free NHS flu jab if you're 65 or over (or turn 65 by 31 March 2027), pregnant, a carer, living in a care home, experiencing homelessness, living with someone with a weakened immune system, or aged 18 to 64 with certain long-term conditions such as diabetes or COPD. NHS jabs start on 1 October 2026, or 1 September if you're pregnant. You need one every year because protection fades and the vaccine is updated. Not eligible? A private flu jab is £25.
Is the Flu Jab Safe and What Are the Side Effects?
The injected flu vaccines used in the UK do not contain live flu viruses, so they cannot give you flu. Side effects are usually mild and get better within 1 to 2 days. They include soreness where the jab was given, a slightly raised temperature and an aching body. Severe allergic reactions are very rare. Tell us about any allergies before your jab, and find out more on the NHS website.

Who Can Get a COVID-19 Vaccine This Autumn?
NHS: A free COVID-19 vaccine is for people aged 75 or over, people living in a care home for older adults and people with a weakened immune system. NHS booking opens on 1 October 2026.
Private: If you're not eligible, you can book a private COVID-19 vaccine at Leyton Pharmacy for £100.
With your flu jab: You can have your COVID-19 vaccine and flu jab at the same appointment.
